Homework
We believe that homework is an essential part of a student’s education. It offers an opportunity to expand and consolidate the learning done in the class. It encourages the students to produce creative, reflective and investigative work. It also develops personal organizational skills and a sense of responsibility. Hence paves a path to self-directed learning.
Parents will be asked to ensure that:
- An environment conducive to completing homework is available at home.
- They support the school in encouraging children to complete homework to the best of their ability.
- They contact the subject teacher or class teacher if a student appears to have problems completing homework.
- They discuss homework topics with their children Praise and encourage children when they take pride in their homework.
- Encourage children to read as widely as possible.
The total daily homework is considered when deciding the length of any assignment. Time allotments should be about:
Grade 1,2&3: 30 min daily
Grade 4,5, &6 :90 min daily
Grade 7,8,9 & 10 :120 min daily
Homework for Grade 1 to Grade 10 will be planned and placed on Edupage (weekly plan) every Thursday. The weekly study plan provides detailed information about each lesson, topics and page numbers to be taught in a specific period, in the succeeding week.
